On a recent two night stay in the White Mountains, the weather did not initially cooperate. An ‘arctic air mass’ combined with high winds to make for wind chills into the -50’s below zero at high elevations. As a result, I spent the day shuffling around town until the afternoon when winds died down, and a ramble up nearby Mount Kearsarge North was an option. With a location so close to North Conway, and a pleasant fire tower to provide shelter at the summit, this is a hike sure to impress. The views north towards Mount Washington are certainly worth the steep trail.
